In her new life, she finally meets a man she loves, only to discover that he, too, is an incompetent coward. With her adopted daughter Sau-wah (Leong Tim-tim) in tow, Moying establishes a vocational school for children from poor families. Showing the harsh obstacles that face a woman in 1930’s Chinese society, the film depicts a new generation of women who believe in free will and independence.
