He has achieved everything in life, fame and fortune, but despite this, an inexplicable longing gnaws at his heart. Mika comes into possession of a diary written in the summer of 1939 by a young woman named Minna, who was full of life and joy. Mika devours the text until it suddenly ends. On a whim, he pours out his heart and writes after Minna's last words, and in no time at all, Minna's reply appears on the pages of the book. This marks the beginning of a unique connection between two different times: Mika in present-day Finland, surrounded by technology and abundance, and Minna in the peace of the countryside, at the dawn of independent Finland, moments before the darkest turning point in history
