They had traveled to Ireland to mourn the death of Kirsty's beloved grandmother and had become engaged. But one day, Kirsty disappears. Furious that she has left him, Shane is surprised to learn that she has a terminal illness that she has kept hidden. Deciding to spend the time he has left with her, Shane finds her to try one last time to win her heart.
